Founded in 2020 by designer/creative director Sânia Bacar, contemporary streetwear brand SAVÁ has made an impressive impact on the fashion world. Having seen unprecedented success at Mozambique Fashion Week for three consecutive years (2020-2022), their sights are now set firmly on expanding internationally with clients across Africa and Portugal already clamoring to get hold of these groundbreaking styles designed with a focus quality, creativity, innovation – all while striving to be as sustainable as possible. With zero plastic packaging and reusing fabrics from past collections where they can.
SAVÁ’s founder and designer Sânia Bacar has come a long way since painting on canvas. After styling her friends, she ventured to obtain a BA Degree in fashion from Fedisa Fashion School – South Africa’s premier training ground for aspiring designers. During her studies there, Bacar won an illustrious graphic design competition which set the foundation for what is now known as one of the leading up-and-coming businesses dedicated to creating exciting and inspiring apparel with powerful messages behind them. Balancing both passions – designing fashionable garments while also enjoying leisurely artistry through painting – Bacar continues pushing boundaries within this industry every day!
SAVÁ pays homage to the family with their new line, Nerú. Inspired by the memory of Sânia Bacar’s beloved grandfather who recently passed away, this collection celebrates his life and honors a cherished bond.
